Dr Karsten Pfeffer is a co-founder and formative leader in the management of the Unidome Group. His professional career is characterised by the combination of scientific excellence and entrepreneurial innovation.

After studying civil engineering and completing his doctorate, Dr Pfeffer turned his attention to the question of how the sustainable approach to material-efficient concrete structures can be translated from a scientific idea into practice. Dr Pfeffer already produced the first internationally commercially viable solutions during his time as inventor, co-founder and managing director of Cobiax. During this phase, he was presented with the German Material Efficiency Award in Berlin in 2010. Thanks to his numerous internationally registered patents, several hundred thousand tonnes of CO2 emissions have been avoided over the past 25 years.

With the founding of Unidome in 2019, Dr Pfeffer brought together his scientific expertise and entrepreneurial experience. His focus is on the development of voided slab technologies for sustainable concrete construction. Unidome solutions are already being used in more than 30 countries around the world. The constantly innovative Unidome construction methods are increasingly establishing themselves as economical and internationally recognised standard methods.
